1. Pause before you reply
Finding a listing that looks like your design is upsetting. It is also common, and there is a clear path through it.
Do not message the seller straight away. A calm plan works better than an angry comment, and a public post can make a marketplace report harder, not easier.
2. Capture the page
Listings on large marketplaces can vanish fast. Before you do anything else, save what you see.
- 01Full-page screenshot
- 02The listing link
- 03Date and time you saw it
- 04Every listing photo
- 05Shop name and marketplace
Take a full-page screenshot, save the link and write down the date and time. If the listing has several photos, save each one.
3. Gather your own dates
Find the date you first listed your design. Your original files, sketches and early posts all add to your dated evidence.
4. Find the right report form
AliExpress, Shein, Amazon and Etsy each have their own form for reporting listings. Our step-by-step guides cover AliExpress, Amazon, Shein and Etsy. Each form asks for much the same things:
- Your original work, as a photo or a link
- The link to the listing you are reporting
- Dates that show you had the design first
- Your contact details
5. Get help with the slow part
A DupeHound report gathers possible matches, dated captures and your own dates in one place, with a worksheet for one marketplace form. A person reviews every possible match first.
