Where Shein reports go
Shein takes intellectual property notices through one place: its Intellectual Property Notice Portal at shein.com/ip-complaint. That is also where you track your reports.
You must be the rights holder, an employee of the rights holder, or an authorised agent. Agents need a Power of Attorney.
What you can report
Shein accepts takedown notices based on:
- Copyright
- Trademarks
- Registered designs
- Unregistered designs, where the law recognises them
- Patents
A copied illustration, print or product photo is usually copyright. Shein asks for registration details where they apply, so include them if your work is registered.
Filing a notice, step by step
- Go to shein.com/ip-complaint and create an account with your name, company name, email and a password. Then sign in.
- Say how you relate to the rights: owner, employee or authorised agent.
- Choose the type of right and describe it. Add registration details if it is registered, and upload documents that show it is yours.
- Identify each listing so Shein can find it: the product link and the product number (SKU). Shein's notice page has a short guide on how to find a SKU.
- Add your supporting evidence, such as a side-by-side of your original and the listing.
- Confirm the statement that your notice is true and accurate, add your contact details and your digital signature, and submit.
Shein may ask for more documents before it acts. A notice without enough information can be rejected, so answer those requests quickly.
Two limits that catch people out
- Your right has to apply where you report
- The right you rely on must be in force in the country where you report the listing. Shein's own example: a UK-registered trademark cannot support a takedown in the US.
- Parallel imports
- Notices about genuine goods resold across borders are only accepted where that claim is valid under the law of the country of the report.
In practice: note which Shein country site the copy is listed on, and check that the right you rely on applies in that country.
After you submit
If the notice is valid, Shein says it may remove or disable the listing and tell the seller. Keep your own dated captures of the listing, so you can show what was there if it comes back under a new link.
