The service5 questions
What is DupeHound?
A service for independent sellers. You upload photos of your designs, we search four marketplaces for listings that look like them, and the free scan shows how many possible matches turn up. If you order the report, a person reviews every possible match and you get a dated report.
Do I need an Etsy shop, or to connect my shop?
No. Upload any product photo, whether you sell on Etsy, Shopify, Instagram, Gumroad or at markets. There is nothing to connect. If you add your shop link, we leave your own listings out.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account and no password. You run a free scan, and if it finds something you order the report, which is emailed to you.
What do I get in the report?
Each possible match beside your photo, the marketplace, a dated capture, a direct link, a review note, your own listing dates and a pre-filled takedown worksheet for one marketplace, which you submit yourself.
What photos should I upload?
Clear product photos of the designs you want checked: up to 5 for the free scan, up to 20 per report. Listing photos, product shots and Instagram posts all work, in JPG, PNG or WEBP.
Search coverage5 questions
Where do you search?
AliExpress, Shein, Amazon and Etsy. Temu is not searched yet.
How do you search?
With your photos, not keywords. The free scan runs a Google Lens image search and counts the marketplace listings it returns. That is a quick check, not a full search, so a zero there does not mean no copies exist. The paid report adds marketplace image-search providers (AliExpress and Shein image search), then a person checks every result beside your photo.
Do you search Temu?
Not yet. Temu is not searched yet, so listings there will not appear in your report. We say so wherever we list marketplaces.
Do you find every copy?
No service can promise that. We search the four marketplaces carefully and tell you exactly where we looked. A result of no matches means none were found as of that date, not that you are in the clear.
Can you check every week?
Monitoring is coming. Founding members lock in early pricing. Join the list and we will send one short email when it opens.
Review4 questions
Who reviews the matches?
A person. Software finds candidates, then a person looks at each one beside your photo before it goes in your report.
Does a match mean someone copied me?
Not always. A possible match is a listing that looks like your design. What it means, and what you do next, is your call.
What does Needs your look mean?
The listing is similar but not identical. You know your work best, so we leave the decision to you.
Is the free scan reviewed?
No. The free scan is automated and shows only a count. A person may rule some of those hits out. Only the Copycat Report has a person on every possible match.
Pricing4 questions
How much does it cost?
The free scan checks up to 5 photos at no cost, one per email address. If it finds something, the Copycat Report is a one-off $29 for up to 20 photos.
Why should I pay if the scan finds nothing?
You should not, and we will not ask you to. If the free scan shows no possible matches, there is no $29 offer, only the founding member list for monitoring.
Is it a subscription?
No. The Copycat Report is a one-off payment. Monitoring will be a separate, optional plan, and founding members lock in early pricing.
Which currency do you use?
US dollars. Every price on this site is in USD.
Refunds3 questions
How long does a report take?
Your report is emailed within 3 business days of your order. If we miss that, you get a full refund.
How do refunds work if you are late?
If your report is not emailed within 3 business days, you get a full refund. The refund policy has the details.
What if the paid report finds nothing?
The report then shows what we searched, how many listings a person reviewed, the near-misses we ruled out and that no matches were found as of that date. It is a dated record, not a promise that no copies exist. Write to us if anything is unclear.
Privacy2 questions
What happens to my photos?
We use them only for your search and report, and delete them 90 days after delivery.
Do you share my data?
No. We never sell or reuse your photos. The privacy policy lists the providers we use to run the service.
Legal3 questions
Are you a law firm?
No. DupeHound is not a law firm and reports are not legal advice.
Do you file takedown reports for me?
No. We do not file reports or contact sellers. The takedown worksheet helps you fill in one marketplace report form yourself.
Can I use the report as evidence?
The report is dated evidence of what we saw: the listing, the link and the date we captured it. How you use it is your call. For legal questions, talk to a lawyer.
