Where AliExpress reports go

Rights holders report AliExpress listings on the Alibaba International IP Protection (IPP) Platform, not through the buyer help pages.

The platform is at ipp.aidcgroup.net. One account covers Alibaba's international marketplaces: AliExpress, Alibaba.com, Lazada and Miravia.

What to have ready

You register once, and the platform checks your identity and your rights before you can file. Have these ready:

  • An identity document. For an individual, a passport, national ID or driving licence. For a business, its registration document.
  • Something that shows the right you are relying on. For a copied design or photo, that is usually copyright. If it is registered, the certificate. If it is not, Alibaba's IPP guidance says you can submit a completed Copyright Claim Statement for unregistered copyright.
  • Your original work: the listing link, the original photo files and the date you first published the design.
  • The link to each AliExpress listing you want to report.
  • A letter of authorisation, only if you are filing for someone else.

If a seller used your brand name or logo, that is a trademark complaint and needs your trademark registration. Copied artwork and copied product photos are usually copyright.

Filing the complaint, step by step

  1. Go to ipp.aidcgroup.net and register an account. Use an email you check, because updates and seller responses come there.
  2. Verify your identity by uploading the document the platform asks for.
  3. Add your intellectual property: choose the type (copyright, trademark or patent), fill in the details and upload the supporting document.
  4. Wait for the right to be verified. You only do this once per right, as long as the document stays valid.
  5. Start a complaint, choose AliExpress as the platform, pick the verified right and the reason that best fits.
  6. Paste the listing links and add a short explanation and your supporting files.
  7. Submit, then follow the complaint in your account. The seller may respond or file a counter-notice, and you may be asked for more information.

Alibaba also runs an online complaint form for one-off notices, but Alibaba's guidance says a registered account is the quickest way to get a claim handled.

Write an explanation a reviewer can act on

Reviewers handle a lot of complaints. Say which right you own, where the listing uses it, and what your files show. For example:

"This seller is a fake" on its own rarely works. A side-by-side image with your date next to theirs does more than a long story.

If your complaint is declined

A declined complaint is common, and it is usually fixable. The usual causes are:

  • The wrong type of right was picked, for example trademark for a copied illustration
  • The supporting document does not match the account name or the work
  • The links point to a shop page or a search page instead of the listing itself
  • The explanation does not show what was copied

Read the reason in your account, fix that one thing, and file again.
