The first question

When you report a listing, the first question is simple: who had it first? Clear dates answer that question for you.

Most report forms do not ask for a long story. They ask for your work, the listing, and something that shows when each existed. Dates do that quietly.

Your dates

  • The date you first listed the design
  • The dates on your original working files
  • Your first social post showing the design

Keep the originals where you found them. A screenshot of a file date is useful. The file itself is better.

Their dates

  • A dated capture of the matching listing
  • The link and the shop name
  • The marketplace it appeared on

A capture shows the listing as it was when it was saved. If the listing changes later, your capture still shows what was there.

Keep them side by side

Laid out together, your dates and theirs tell the story quickly. That is why every DupeHound report puts your listing dates next to each possible match.
